Family history
Although very little is known about Varvich's background, a few simple facts are known. On Stardate 5304.05, a young infant no more than a few days old was found in a deserted back alley in Vulcan's capital city by members of the local law enforcement organization. Although the infant appeared to be taken good care of (save for the fact that it had been abandoned), all efforts to identify the parents failed. The fate of the child was therefore to be raised in a local orphinage, where the workers decided to name the child Varvich, a name which meant The Abandoned One in pre-Surak Vulcan.

Varvich grew up in the Surak's Teachings Orphinage, developing normally along the same lines as other Vulcan children, and at age 3 he started to be weened of displaying emotions. Although a stubborn child, the weening process progressed faster than expected and Varvich proved to be a devoted student of Surak's teachings. At age 15, he underwent his first Pon Farr with his chosen mate, T'Del, whom he had met at school a year prior and found that he harbored attraction and affection for her. Varvich and T'Del would later be joined in wedlock.
Education
After completing his primary and secondary education, where he had excelled in most courses but done only average in Art and in Federation History, Varvich was faced with a difficult choice. Due to his achademic achievements, he received offers from both the Vulcan Science Academy and Starfleet Academy. After consultations with T'Del, the advisor at the orphinage and his friends, Varvich finally decided to apply for Starfleet Academy. After passing the entrance exam with acceptable results, he enrolled at Starfleet Academy at age 31, choosing to go for a career within the field of Tactical and Security, having obtained an unquenchable interest for tactics a few years earlier.

Varvich's four-year education at Starfleet Academy found him maturing and embracing new cultures and understandings, and he proved to be a quick learner. Over the course of his tenure at the Academy, Varvich specialized in starship tactics and unarmed close quarters combat with the Vulcan martial art form of Suss Mahn. Varvich graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2364 and was initially assigned to the USS Armstrong as a security officer.

Over the next nine years, Varvich found himself serving as a security officer on several different starbases and starships, slowly making his way up the rank ladder as was customary for officers before the Dominion War. When the Dominion War broke out, then Lieutenant Junior Grade Varvich was assigned to the USS Mixmin as a security team leader. After a Jem'Hadar boarding party managed to kill much of the bridge crew, Varvich was made the ad hoc bridge tactical officer after clearing the Mixmin of Jem'Hadar and managed to help fend off the attack. For the remainder of the war, Varvich served as the Mixmin's bridge tactical officer before he left Starfleet after the war with the hopes of settling down on Vulcan and start a family with T'Del.

In 2380, Varvich found himself rejoining Starfleet after T'Del got a scientific position with the Vulcan Science Academy which took her travelling across the Federation and beyond. Varvich had missed serving on a starship and felt he had been wasting his education away with leaving Starfleet, and his return to the uniform was approved by T'Del. On Stardate 10503.21, Varvich reported for duty aboard the USS Armstrong again, which by now had been renamed USS Victoria (NCC-74963) after the ship's involvement in the Storm rebellion just after the Dominion War, then under the command of Commander Mez, as a security officer holding the rank of Ensign (he had lost the Lieutenant rank after leaving Starfleet after the war).

After a few months, Varvich was promoted to Chief Tactical Officer aboard Victoria and continued to serve in that function, receiving several promotions and awards for his outstanding duty to his ship, fellow shipmates and Starfleet before he was reassigned to the starbase DS-168 "Morgan Le Fay Station" as her executive officer. Varvich served as DS-168's executive officer for four months until he was ordered to report to Starfleet Command for a special assignment.
Medical profile
Like all Starfleet officers, Varvich has undergone the required annual medical checkups, all of which he has passed without any problems worth mentioning. It should however be noted that Varvich has had a few additions to his record after he was assigned to the [[USS Victoria]]. Due to Patient-Doctor Confidentiality, the following information is restricted for the medical staff as per standard procedures.

During the away mission to [[Onashem II]], Varvich managed to sustain severe injuries to the majority of his body, including several deep gashes in his head, back, arms and left thigh which required surgery to mend. While Varvich made a full recovery and was fully cleared to resume his duties after healing, these wounds, which were inflicted by a "changeling" (a Dominion Founder) left several nasty scars along his back and the left side of his neck. Fortunately, these are mostly concealed by his duty uniform.

In the realm of psychology, Varvich suffered severe mental trauma after learning of the identity of his father, one Lieutenant Commander Vellac who was killed in the line of duty during the Second Borg Incursion in the Typhoon Sector. Varvich had invested a lot of dedication and effort into learning of the identity of his parents, and he had prepared himself that he would finally get to know his long lost parents. Therefore, the news that his father had been positively identified but been killed not many years prior had a severe determinal effect on the Vulcan's mind. This determinal effect was simply put that the Vulcan's mental barriers that had managed to suppress his emotions since childhood became so weak that his long buried emotions were able to rise to the surface and be displayed. It was only after lengthy period of time which involved significant amounts of counselling and assistance from the Victoria counselling staff (Cmdr [[Qam Shadee']], Psy.D.) before Varvich could once again start to think logically and be able to suppress his emotions. While Varvich has made a good recovery, the recovery is not complete. The risk of his emotions rising again is still present, but this is countered through regular and focused Vulcan meditation.
Other
Sports a goatee beard and short-cut hair, and has a nasty scar along the left side of his neck. Other than that, a normal Vulcanoid male.

The website and the ODN are no longer separate entities. No jumping from one site to the other to get information. We have added to our technological distinctiveness to become one. The process of rebuilding the front-end is still ongoing. Making "a" website... that's easy. Making a website that uses all our content over decades... that's hard.
