Rob is the first Morley to enter Starfleet. The Morley's are historically musicans and followers of the Rastafari religion. Although Rob originally kept with the traditions of his predecessors he decided to join Starfleet after touring Federation planets with his band.
Mother died shortly after childbirth due to complications (there is some controversy over this, as medical records were lost - Suveth dishonoured her family by marrying a human and moving to Earth)
Gregory, father, is alive and remarried. He is an accomplished chef and runs a traditional Caribbean restaurant in Beijing, where he lives with his wife, t'Hoth, and his newly born daughter, Salone. He is also a follower of the Rastafari faith and considered a religious leader amongst the small group of faithfuls. He was once a famous reggae singer.
Rob's elder half-brothers, Stephen and Damian Morley, are civilian lawyers and not follow in any family traditions as they find them "silly and outdated".
Salone, Rob's newly born half vulcan sibling, is healthy, gorgeous and cries a lot.
t'Hoth, Rob's Stepmother is a journalist, once an investigate reporter, has now taken a leave of absence to raise her daughter. She helps out as a waitress at Gregory’s restaurant.

Had a drug addiction, before joining Starfleet, to extraterrestrial cannabis like plant Ligonian red leaf. Rob has always claimed to use it for religious purposes as Rasta’s smoked cannabis in the past as part of many core rituals.
Rob now lights replicated hemp candles, but misses his habits of old. So much so, form time to time he might smoke a holographic spliff on the holodeck, psychoactive effects not present.
