Jade Alexis Palmer

Tyler Palmer, an Italian-raised Human, met Ivy Winters during his first assignment as a tactical officer on the USS Yatzer. She had joined Starfleet to follow in her parents' medical footsteps; he was a tactical officer with a charming Italian accent and breeding to boot. They married within two months of their first meeting.

A few years later, after an accident that required extensive rehabilitation for Tyler, Ivy transferred to Starfleet Medical as an Emergency Medicine Physican so that the two of them could move back to Earth and Tyler would be able to be with family during this difficult time.

Tyler had grown up in Rome on Earth, and his family was somewhat of a modern Mafia; his 'breeding' could be traced back to the infamous Italian Mafia of the 20th century, a fact that most of his relatives did not forget and loved to draw upon. Ivy at first did not get along with his family and they with her, though over time they came to terms and she was accepted into the family as the strong and spirited young woman she'd grown to be.

Jade and Jayne Alexis Palmer were born to Tyler and Ivy in Rome, where they were destined to grow up as spoiled children, close to many members of their extended Italian family. Their younger sister, Ebony, was born a few years later. (Ivy was raised in various foster/adoptive families after the death of her parents in a shuttle accident when she was young. Therefore, the family support came almost entirely from Jade's father's side.)

Tyler and Ivy made the decision to remain on Earth, though Starfleet tried several times to transfer one or both of them, they always managed to make it back to Earth and to their beloved Italy. Both of them remain in Starfleet to this day, in varying capacities.

Jade grew up alongside her sister Jayne under the watchful eye of an extended, close and very Italian family. Since the Palmers and their extensions enjoyed playing the 'Mafia' card, Jade and Jayne grew up as spoiled as the 'Mafia Princesses' they'd often be referred to. Despite this, the caring heart of their mother remained with the girls and their younger sister Ebony.

Jade was raised with a background as a Roman Catholic; a faith that has stayed with her to today, and she believes has seen her through difficult times of her life thus far and will continue to rely on her faith in God for inner strength.

Jade is a champion martial artist, as she competed in Fencing and Tae Kwon Do tournaments (among others) from a young age. She continues these studies today, along with horseback riding. She is an accomplished Equestrian, and rides whenever she can, though it is for pure enjoyment of the sport and she rarely competes.

Jade has fairly extensive training in gymnastics, at insistence of a family member, though dedicated herself moreso to the competitive martial arts, running, tennis and singing. These were the extracurricular activities she preferred in her spare time at the Academy.

After graduation from the Academy, Jade was recruited by Starfleet Intelligence. She entered their service as a linguist and communications expert, however she soon was asked to further her training to become a full-fledged field operative. This was mainly requested due to Jade's talent in martial arts from years of training. She accepted and was trained for use as a field operative. She has performed various roles in countless missions for Starfleet Intelligence.
