Galen Lovoth

Galen was born on stardate 7906.14 at 12:10 hours to Terjon and Kyrian in the small town of Calais on Betazed. Kyrian decided to begin Galen's schooling a little early, so she taught him at home when he was 3 years old. By the time he was ready for elementary school, he already knew his letters, numbers, and was beginning basic mathematics. Galen liked school, for the most part... the only problem was that he didn't involve himself in many extra curricular activities; therefore not fully developing social skills that he would latter need. He did however, become an after school tutor his 7th and 8th grade years, where he made quiet a few friends.

Galen prided himself on passing his classes on the honor level, for it challenged his mind... and never left him bored. He also found that he had a knack for the technologies, as well as math and science. It was during this time that he was beginning to realize who he was and what he wanted to do with his life. One day, during his junior year, in a career exploration class... a representative from Starfleet Academy was there handing out information to perspective recruits. He took the pamphlet home and discussed the idea with his parents. In the beginning they were objectionable about the idea, but saw the determination in their son's eyes. They gave him their support and love, and Galen finished high school with a 4.0 GPA. He went just 2 weeks after graduating and signed up for the Starfleet Academy Prepitory Class.

After passing the Starfleet Academy Prepitory Seminar, the first year of Starfleet Academy was easier for him than most cadets, which he found himself helping them a little. However, the second year proved to be harder than he thought. With more technical explanations and diagrams to remember for his field of study, Engineering Technician, he found it harder to keep up. Fortunately, he was a fast learner and began picking up speed and able to recall important notes when needed. Galen was awarded first prize in an engineering competition when he successfully demonstrated the interactions within a warp core during warp flight. During Galen's junior year at the academy, he still had to face the psychological test, and he was unsure how he would do. He subsequently passed the test, however, at what cost... He later began having nightmares about the experience and made an appointment with the counselor at the academy. Galen passed at the top of his class with 98 percentile. Now that he has a clean bill of health, Galen awaits his first deep space assignment.
