Family history
Rick’s father was just returning from a marine operation when his wife gave birth to baby which they called Rick Michael Shannon. From the time Rick could walk his father taught him military discipline and about all the aspects of being a marine which included everything from weapons to tactics. Rick’s Mother taught Rick all about medicine and emergency first aid but more important Rick Mother all taught him about emotions and that within time they would surface and serve him well.
Education
During Rick early schooling he excelled at physical education and gained top marks in athletics and physical sports as well as excelling in his academic subject. On leaving schooling Rick entered into the marine boot camp as that at the time what he thought was best thing he could do and it showed as he impressed the marine instructors and within a year he was classified as a private and to his surprise he was assigned to his fathers unit.
Rick worked hard and during the next 7 years he was promoted through the chain of command to the level of Gunnery Sergeant. Rick had just turned 24 when he looked around him and decided although he was good at what he did he could possible be even better in Starfleet and so he talked it over with his mother and father and although his father was upset by his decision he supported his son and Rick was accepted into the academy. After working hard Rick graduated the academy with honors in Intelligence, Embarked Crafts and Weapons.
